Videodrome

This was great movie I had so much fun watching it.  I jus found it funny that with it being a Canadian film from 1983 it caught my attention in a great deal because it continuously caught me off guard with everything that was going on. The movie actually creeped out a lot more than most films today do.  This film has a lot of  video jargon and ideology this makes things even more interesting to watch at least for me. And Cronenberg makes the freaky situation with a series of crazy visual effects. I was so shocked it turned out that way for it being from 1983 I must say again. 

Oryx and Crake

I decided to do Oryx and Crake this was a pretty cool read definitely something new for me. I found this story to be pretty interesting. I really found my self enjoying the sett up of this book with how the author he really lets you create a bond with the characters and Snowman’s journey. I also enjoyed the way the author didn’t really give you the whole story line at the very beginning but made it more of a gradual read finding out all these need things the more you read. He really makes you feel like your really there and you can really be there with the characters in there journey. The funny things is about this story is that I can really see this truly happening in the future with out any doubt at all

Snow Crash

Snow crash was a really fun read to be honest before reading the story I really didn't have any idea what the cyber punk genre was all about. I liked how this story dealt a lot with avatars and how they were like the best hackers ever created. I also found it interesting how they had a different kind of Avatar for each different kind of human. The messed up part about this whole thing is that the only people that benefits  from the Avatars are the wealthy and thats it. In this time frame the only people that gets a good Avatar are the rich or the people that are just great at hacking but if your not one of the two your pretty much just left out the loop.  It really places you into the future to see how not everything is organic anymore, and also it makes you think about the world we live in today and how things are slowly but for sure going in that direction.

Hunger Games

I feel the hunger game was really interesting read. The Hunger Game took place in Panem it is what we now call North America. There was a large nuclear war which really changed things a lot there. From this Nuclear war came along Panem which was a district. Its 12 districts in all there used to be a 13 but 13 went against the Hunger Games and was done in a rebellion against the Capitol. The capital is in the rocky mountains which is where the government is located. I really felt it placed me into a world of poverty and filth I feel as if there was just no structure everything was just a complete mess but every one still comes together because there pretty much all they have. The hunger games then comes along pulling families apart just so the have young teens battle to the death. This really remind me of a lot of the old battle scenes when royalty has the poor fight against each other all for just silly entertainment. Very sad story I really pray this isn’t something to happen in the future. The hunger games can be compared the show "Survivor". Only because a group of hand chosen competitors are put on an island to compete against each other for $1,000,000 but in The hunger game there isn’t any money being rewarded. They are all put to the test of strength, mental power and the abilities they have to survive on their own. Even though on the TV show they work together in groups for a short period of time, they soon learn that they are not able to trust anyone but themselves and in the end they are all thinking and planning how to win the game on their own. They are all being watched by hundreds of thousands of people to see who will last and who will be voted out. In the hunger games you are eliminated by death but in the TV show, you are eliminated by majority vote or if you choose to leave.

Fantasy

I never ben a big fan of the Fantasy genre but i actually did enjoy Kiki's Delivery service. and even though it was fantasy based it had a lot of strong points that could be brought into reality. I actually find it cool that she was a female mentor and basiclly telling the story from Kiki's perspective. I feel it deals a lot with just growing up in life. I also found it interesting how Kiki wanted to really just leave home and start a new life start something new go down a new path but her mother really didn't agree with that idea at all.

Harry Potter

I feel the book Harry Potter is a very interesting read. I find it very funny thats when these movies were first coming out there was so much controversy with the fact of people saying that its a horrible story line and there just teaching young children evil witch craft, when in all honesty i never took the story in that way at all if anything I took it as a very interesting adventure full of magic and fun. I really enjoyed that the story places you into totally different world that actually helps open your imagination up to a whole different level. I enjoyed the story line totally. I feel it was well thought out for sure.

The hobbit

I found this to be a very interesting story, to be real I have never ben a big fan on fantasy stories such as work similar to this but The Hobbit really seemed to catch my attention. I found it very cool on how the portrayed a whole new group of living beings and there all just little people a whole town of them. I also like the way they gave each main character a very strong personality which really added to the story line. I liked the way the author set up Bilbo to go on this huge quest and how the wizard continuously showed up in the time of need. I think the main reason I enjoyed this work is mainly because the author was able to make this place so believable through out the story even though it really wasn't at all. I also liked the way there was always something unexpected going on that kept you from being able to predict exactly what was next to happen

Time bandits

I thought this was a pretty cool movie for children. I found it to be really cool with the way the boy really had a huge interest in history and i found it funny how sometimes you couldn't really tell when he was in his little fantasies or when he was actually in the real world he lived in. even though at times there were a lot of shots that didn't make any since once so ever.  It feel overall the movie really just shows how your always going to be tested in life by God and he still allows you to make choices on your own.

A wild sheep chase

To be honest I didn't really care for this book it was kind of a boring read and didn't even seem to be a horror book like its suppose to be. I always new what was going to happen next which made me really dislike reading it.  The majority of the characters stayed nameless in the book which took even more away from the story if there were names it would have at least had a bit  more of an effect by giving them all different personalities. I feel the author could have done much more to this story than what has ben done. I was expecting much more from the tittle A wild sheep chase but i was highly disappointed.

Audition

I feel this movie was very different from most that I have seen. I like how it wasn't much going on in the beginning but as the movie progressed things just kept popping up that continuously surprised me. I like the way they didn't over do it with all the over dramatic like most movies seemed to do that we have been told to watch or have seen in class. But it was mainly about a man that has lost his wife in search for some one new to confide in and love once again. I feel this movie was greatly set up wasn't to boring but also had enough going on just to keep you on your toes.

Night of the living dead

This movie was very cool i always enjoy old horror movies better than the recent ones. I feel the movies back then always gives you a bit more of a scare than most now. I wished the movie was in color I feel it would have done much more then old black and white for the viewers. One thing i really disliked is the way they decided to end the movie I feel it could've gone in a totally different way and I really feel they could have went without killing Ben since he did the most for the movie if you ask me.

Monster Island

I feel this story was a great read i always love to  watch zombie movies and with reading this it just let me but all kinds of great imagery to it which really made me want to continue reading. I found it so cool that the zombies just took over. I also find it very interesting in the way that the author portrayed each one by giving all them these different personalities and where they were coming from. I like the way that the doctor chose to become a zombie so he could really just finish off man kind. I also liked the way they placed this whole story in New york but to real i would have liked to see it place somewhere that would be out of the norm since most movies its always depicted there. Overall i really enjoyed the story and found it to be a great read.

Frankenstein

The Frankenstein by Mary Shelley was very interesting it was a very huge different from the old movies that i remembered seeing growing up. But i just really found it funny how after Frankenstein brought his monster to life he was just scared out of his mind. He finally decided to try and catch his monster. I feel in the story there was a lot of symbolism from dealing with  acceptance in the world.

I found it funny how everything was really over dramatic. I even felt the mild humor was really interesting in how the went about doing it. The extra dramatic music for very small events that took place. the very dark setting that were in he house.
